Andiesean
I am going to do a underwrap with metallic thread, Gudebrod HT. Should I put a coat of CP on underwrap before putting on the overwrap? Thanks, Andie North East Rod Builders
gadwall8
No "I came into this world naked, screaming at the top of my lungs, and covered in someone else's blood. I got no problem leaving it that way."Who can hope to be safe? Who sufficiently cautious? Guard himself as he may, every moment's an ambush. Gentle Ben
This is a matter of personal preference. You will find that by applying CP to the underwrap the threads will not move as much making the burnishing of the overwrap easier. gadwall8
I put a coat of epoxy on underwraps before overwraps. fisheb00
Ben, its great to see you here. You have a wealth of knowledge and you'll be a great contributor to the board, there's a great group of guys here so make yourself at home. Another good quality is CP will rid the underwrap of the air (bubbles) that would come out in the epoxy when the wrap is finished. Bruce

Bob Balcombe
I find If you flip the blank and wrap over the under wrap the under wrap compress neatly and you don't have to worry about the top wrap slidding through the underwrap leaving a gap
