replacing a reel seat

Al,

I put a 9' fisher graphite blank together w/ cork tape and a fugi plate type reel seat. The initial plan was to tape the seat in place so that it could be moved from a pluggin position to a small bait rod (for kingfish, etc.)The problem was that when taped it wobbled too much for my liking and I ended wrapping it on w/ thread and epoxy. Now I still dont like it and wish I had just gone with the more conventional fugi seat. Any suggestions short of stripping it all down and re doing appreciated?

At a minimum you will need to strip off the reelseat and cork tape grip on the butt.

Then fit a regular Fuji seat going on from the butt end of the blank. You may need to go up one or two reelseat sizes to fit it over the butt.

You will then probably need to put two layers of corlk tape on the butt.
