So I'm finally ready to start wrapping (Surf Pirate's Ninja Bass Bat) SWB 8" H...

My usual process is to clean the remaining epoxy smears, tape adhesive, finger oils, etc. off with Denatured Alcohol on a paper towel. Works great, I seldom have fish eyes or any finish problems smile.gif

Well it took the paint right off the blank! I now have a slightly mottled, gray rod redface.gif I kind of like it and I was planning on keeping one for myself anyway smile.gif

Just aheads up-

Sheeeesh! That is strange bit of business. DA's pretty mild mannered stuff and I would not have thought it could break down any dried or "set" finish that easily. I wonder what the heck they coated those blanks with for a finish in the first place. Better you found out now than after all the work was done.
