Determining Line WT

Built 2 fly rods one 8-1/2ft, one 9ft....when i got the blanks line wt wasnt for sure, it was mentioned maybe abt. 5....i'm trying to determine what best size ln to use. There graphite blanks and don't know modulas, but, blanks feel nice, pretty FAST....OK, so iwas throwing a 7/8 wt line and really could not feel the blank loading(it was a WF line so i know when the blank shud have been loading)My ?? is do i have too much or to little rod for a 7wt??.shoud i go to 5wt line and see if that loads??...Any help\\suggestions appreciated.

WOW...have i stumpded everybody or is my qustion that stupid nobody can make sense of it!!!

 

i'm trying to determine what my optimum line size willl load the rod properely. I know if i have to light a line, it ust flops around inside the guides when trying to load the rod or something like that...i dont remember where i read it but, there's a way to determine this. Is there any rod manuf.reps out there?

There is a fairly objective way to determine line weight it's called "The Common Cents System"(visit rodbuilder.org) or you can use common sense i.e. use the line that allows you to cast as well you can.
