boat rod

Hello, new here to this forum, and a beginning rod builder.

I've done a search on boat rods, but have not yet found what I am looking for.

I am interested in building a boat rod to drift live baits (eels, porgie and bunker). The currents and depths I fish in the Sound require as much as 12 to 16 ounces at times even with braid to stay vertical. I primarily fish circle hooks, so I would like a rod that can handle that much weight but provide enough flex in the tip to allow the circle hook to work (not looking for a pool que).

Any suggestions?

The blank you are looking for is the Lami composite CGBT841M. I have been fishing it for eels and bucktailing in both the Race and Plum Gut with great results.
