Batson 967 guide setup

Got a Batson Rainshadow 967 to set up as spin. I need some suggestions for guide setups and spacing. I have been thinking 5 guides, 40, 25, 20, 16, 12.

This will be a birthday present for my 11 year old son with a Tica Libra 4000 and 15 lb mono. Metalic burgundy underwraps, metallic silver tips and black warps.

I haven't worked out the legnth from stem to but yet. My son is small 4'8", but of course he is growing like the proverbial weed. I want to make it short enough so that he can use it now, but not so short he will outgrow it. I personally like the butt section shorter than most of the recomendations I have read, and I am not small, 6' tall with 34" sleeves. Butt to center of reel on my 1087 spin is 22", butt to center of my 7000 is 25" on my 10' canal rod.

I would go 40, 30 , 20 16 , 12 and a 10 tip

I think about 18 will be a pretty good butt length.

Start the first guide about 6.5 inches from the tip. Put the 40 about 30 inches from the reel seat. space the other guides out and then do the stress test. You should end up somewhere like 6.5 , 14 1/4 , 23 1/2 , 35 , 48.
