Any one recall the blank numbers for the models that were heavier and lighter than the 8308? I used to keep that stuff written down but over the years I have lost the info.

Fisher only ever cataloged four graphite blanks listed as surf models; two nines and two tens, and the 8308 is the lighter of the nines. There was no "lighter" one than that, not even an eight footer, in the entire series. It dropped all the way back to some 7'-2" blanks from the 9'-0" 8308.

The heavier nine footer was model no. 8708, the lighter of the two tens was the 8320 and the heavier ten was the 8720.

I'd forgotten about those three lightweights altogether. The Surfcaster was selling them in the early 90's under his own unique numbering system but they never showed in either of my slightly older Fisher factory catalogs. Bill was pretty good at rating blanks and he had both of those 5.5 tip size models at 3/4 to 2 oz, and I expect they were something along the lines of steelhead blanks as the tip size suggests.

I'll assume that listing of an "8305" rather than 8308 is either your or your catalog's typo. 8308 was most definitely a very well-known nine foot Fisher blank number and is not on that list.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking 8708 but wasn't sure. Totally forgot about the 6908 though. They're all nice rods, although the 8708 is a bit of a club when used all night.
