Spine vs. bend in blank??

Rate this topic

Al,

I have a nice 7' blank that has some bend in the final 8" of the blank (tip end). I found the spine to be 90 degrees from the bend. Any problem with positioning the guides on spine (spinning rod) with the tip then being slightly crooked to the right?

Thanks, Mark

Gentle curve to one side. Maybe a visual will help since I'm not good at mentally calculating degrees. Draw a straight 7" line on a piece of paper. At the top of the line, measure over a little more than 1/8" and make a point. Now draw a new line from the bottom of the straight line to the point. The bend in my blank is represented by the new line. Does that explain it?

Thanks, Mark
