Allstar 1265 - Spiral Wrap??

Anybody ever spiral wrapped a 1265? Thinking of making that my next personal project, just looking for some guidance before I get started. Want to make it light as possible but still plenty strong. Will be used on OBX for spanish and stripers, casting 1.5 - 3 oz lures. Gonna match it up with either an abu 6500 mag-elite or the new 6600 C5 mag.

Don't know about the blsnk but you'll love the spiral wrap.Which are you going to use?Spiral/Roberts, O'Quinn, or revolver? I'm a lefty so I put my spiral on to the left trying to offset any possible torquing under a "fighting load".

Some put the first guide at 0 deg.I offset my first and wound-up making the turn to 180deg with 4 guides.Since I dislike braids on multipliers I didn't drop below a#10 for shockleader knot clearance since I'll be fishing either 12 or14lb mono with a 40lb shockleader(this is a lure rod).

Were I to build something for heavier line and shockleaders I'd stop at a #12.Good Luck. Neil
