cut my rod?

Got a problem,

lamiglass 6'6" ic 66xh

inshore classic 15-40#

1-4 oz fast action

I've used it 2x. Originally bought for toggin', but found it too stiff. Someone suggested using it for jiggin blues, but I just can't get myself to use a $190 <list> rod for choppers.

Another friend had a good idea and suggested cutting the tip down about 6" and perhaps it'll be a nice cod rod.

I'v tried to sell it, but no takers for even $130. Since I don't want to give it away, I was hoping for a little input on what to do with this rod.

Thanks for any input

Cutting the rod WILL NOT increase your max weight for lures/line. It just increase the minimum lure weights. Meaning if it is rated 1 to 4oz and you cut it, not it might be rated 2 or 3 to 4oz and 25-40lb test.
