Best way toe secure 2 piece?

Rate this topic

When fishing, I use a piece of electric tape around the area that connects the two pieces. I would however like to use something on the inside to hold it together and lose the tape.

Does anyone know what would be good to use to hold the two pieces together better? When it gets cold out, I find the top half twists a lot.

Thanks,

Erik,

First clean both the male and female parts of the ferrule with denatured alcohol and a Q tip.

Get some ferrule lube or paraffin wax and coat the male ferrule with the wax.

Gently join the two sections so that the alignment is at 90 degrees to each other. Do not put any pressure in joining the two sections together up until this point.

Carefully apply pressure to the two sections while twisting to align them. This is called a bayonet mount. Now carefully align the two sections by gently making any final adjustment.

To separate the sections, gently pull and twist the two two sections.

Periodically clean the ferrules and lubricate them. You should not need the electrical tape.

Al
