double wrap or not

in past threads you recommend using size Athread for both underwarps and over warps.on a glb108mh and a gsb1201l should i double warp the over wraps.glb108mh willbe aspinner with single foot and 1201 aconventional. when double wrapping isit done as two separate wraps orone wrap over another and finsh.this is my first attempt at rod building.thanks.p.s. did many winter trips on the Chief;atomic and victory in the early and late sixties.

You are bringing back alot of old memories. i was recently in Brooklyn visiting a "Bay Sharpie". He has a collage of old photos of the Bay headboats going back to the early 1920's through the early 1970's.

 

Since this is your first rod and the fact that they are not heavy ofshore rods, a single overwrap of size C or D thread should be fine. Just make sure you taper and polish the guide feet well to insure you get a smooth wrap.
