Tip size on CGBT841M

Al, can you tell me the tip size on this rod? I just bought one from Merrick and I remember reading the tip was size 6, but when I measured with my caliper it was closer to size 10. I can't find the size on the net, nor do I have any catalouges with me. The line rating is 10-25 on this rod, that can't be right either. It seems like it should be closer to 40.

Thank you, Billy.

Billy,

You are correct. The CGBT841M is rated for 40 lb and has a #10 tip. The new catalog is not correct. I have a number of these blanks in my shop and that is the correct rating.

The blank makes an excellent heavy jigging rod and is very good for both cod and deepwater blackfishing.

Hope to see you in Freeport.

Al

Thanks - I wish they'd update the catalouges. Now I have the wrong size tip-top. I need a size 10 SIC tip-top in black. I planned to spiral wrap this rod with BNLGH guides, but now I need the BHNLG's. I also have some BLBLG single foots I wanted to use toward the tip. Al, can you tell me what model top I need (SIC), and bring it to the Freport show for me?

Thanks, Billy
