Sears Roebuck surf Rod

I came across a Sears Roebuck surf rod. It is about 10ft., grey with really nice red and chrome colored wraps. Two pieces with cork grips. The best part is it has the matching Sears Roebuck reel. Does anyone know anything about these. Im sure they are not the best equipment, but they are in great condition. When were these produced - or anything else you can tell me!

It is a two piece that breaks just above the reel seat. It does have the wire guides. Ill have to look closer, but I think that the blank is unpainted and grey. It has the sears roebuck label painted/stamped in gold. Ill take a picture this weekend.

I bought my first surf rod from Sears in late 60's. It was a Shakespeare 9' 2 piece with a Ted Williams endorsement. I only used it for a short while before I found Lamiglas and never looked back. I don't think the Sears near me even carries sporting goods any more.
