re--finishing a custom rod

Al,

I am kinda new to rod building, I made my first rod two years ago and have built 15-20 in my life. I am getter better at it.. it takes time and patience.. My question is, I have an 11ft bronco spinning rod that I built and I dont like where I originally placed the guide. I ahve since built other ords that I feel I like the positioning better. I stripped the bronco and where the guides used to be is all "choppy". I want to sand and re-finish the rod.

DO I use Exopxy? do I "thin it out"? If so, how do I do that? Any suggestions would be appreciated..

I would first lightly sand down the blank with 600 grit paper and clean thoroughly.

Then I would give the rod a thin coat of Clemens Crystal Coat to finish the blank. Let the finish dry for a minimum of 72 hours before starting your guide wraps.
