Vintage rod maintenance

I inherited several vintage Harnell rods from my father. I was wondering if there is a way to determine the spec's. They only have the HARNELL logo on them with a number (526, 774, 906, 913, 534R ). Also how do I maintain the guide wrappings (with a coating of WHAT) and keep the original look?

a1snag go to www.harringtonrods.com you can check their web site or ask Jean to send you their catalog, perhaps if blanks are discontinued she can supply the needed info.-Note many of their blanks have been cut by builders so the speks may not what you have now.A good portion of the older Harnells were custom made most builders used flex coat as a finish- matching thread colors could be a slight problem due to fadeing and the fact that the new threads are a slightly different material with some color changes
