the c6909 would be a fine choice, you can cut it to whatever tip you want. i just built one into a meatstick for codfishing, but for a bridge rod id leave more tip on it.

if you like glass theres also the sb1213M im building one right now conventional with a 14tip cut from the butt to 8'6" for big live eels and 2oz+ bucks from bridges.

I think the c6909 is a great blank when tip cut to 8' for a New England (Hiannis sp?)cod rod. Unfortunately it is no longer listed in the 2004 Lami blank catalog and I don't find it under another #. Wonder why???

I built one last year and cut the butt to make it 8'6". Its a great rod for jetty work and its wonderful for Montauk Point. As stated before I think Lami droped it from their line up but I'll bet there are still a few out there. Bruce
