cork tape on boat stick

here's another question.....

Any drawback to building a fluke stick using doubled up cork tape?

I figure it would give you comfort and lightness.

Anyone doing it? any pictures you care to share?

Why bother with cork tape on a Fluke stick? Split grip cork or EVA. It's too thin where you want it thicker - behind the reel seat & teh foregrip (assuming you use the foregrp)

Whenever you cut weight on the butt of a rod, the rod may end up tip heavy. Especially if you use heavy guides. If you find this to be the case, you can move teh reel seat up the blank a bit more to get it to balance, easily done with cork tape, a royal PITA with cork or foam.
