Just picked one up from Merrick on closeout. 12 footer, Glass blank rated 6-12, 2 piece, will use for chunking. Any input on what guides and spacing would be appreciated.

Dave,

If you check the 1508 blank is 13'2" as it comes from the factory. I build mine @12'6" which is from the tip and cut off the butt section. If you can wait till I get home I'll be happy to send you my guide spacing. I use the BNLG guides and have'nt had any problems with them.

Dave,

Sorry I miss read your post all my 1508's are the Breakaway models BGSW1508 and 1509. I have no experience with the glass rods. However the BNLG guides should work fine.

Thanks, I shoulda mentioned that I'm wrapping it conventional. I actually cut the butt down, and now it measures 11'6. This thing will throw alota weight. I'll check your spacing out.

On 1507, 8 ,and 9 power heavers that I build. I start out with BSVLG guides, 30mm 25mm 20mm 16mm then drop down to BNLG guides from 16mm 12mm 12mm 12mm and a 16mm tip ring. Regards Big Dave
