Guide Spacing on a 12'6" Heaver.

I want (I didn't say need) to buy my first custom rod.

I'm current throwing a Tica 12 with a SHV30 reel loaded with BG-20. I'll put the same reel on the custom rod. I tie a Spider Hitch in the 20# line to double it and then use the Slim Beauty to tie on a Suffix 50# shock leader. I'll be throwing 8oz and a chunk of bait/head/eel.

I've settle on one of two blanks. The Breakaway/AllStar 1508 or the Rainshadow 1509. I'll have either rod built to 12'6".

I've seen these "suggested" guide spacing. I'd appreciate any opinions of which is best. I'll be using NSG SiC guides (or something better?).

Spacing A: 30-25-20-20-16-16-16(tip)

Spacing B: 30-25-20-16-16-16-16(tip)

Spacing c: 25-20-16-12-12-12-12-12(tip)

I'll be using the rod to striper and drum fish the Outerbanks of NC.

Thanks

Big Dave, I'm trying to decide which blank to use. I'm down to one of two. Either the Breakaway/AllStar 1508 or the Rainshadow 1509.

I'm interested in the Rainshadow, but I haven't been able to find anyone that has actually thrown this blank.

Several custom builders are pushing it pretty good as the new "original" 2pc/1pc. But, they just got in the blanks and haven't started building rods yet.

I've read good things about Rainshadow.

The Breakaway/Allstar 1508 is proven.

If you have another suggestion, I'm open.

Here is my situation:
