BASSOMATIC
Al, I saw on another thread ,you recomended a SIC tip for a 10 foot surf rod .What is the difference between SIC and Hardaloy, besides price ?Why just the tip and not all the guides ? Al Goldberg
Bass, The tip of a rod getes the most friction from the line, therefore the SIC tip since it is the hardest of all the ceramic materials with a reasonable cost. The reason I recommend an SIC tip with Hardaloy running guides is strictly due to cost since all SIC guides would typically be 3-4 times the cost of hardaloy. If you fish hard and cost is not an issue then go for the SIC guides as well. Al
