Fenwick Rod Question

One thing I can tell ya---if the blank# is SU 1388 and it's only 10' long, it's been cut down. It originally was a 138" (11-1/2') "8" power blank, which was pretty heavy under their rating system.

If it's honey yellow, it's E-glass. If it's dark brown, it's Fenglass which was Fenwick's version of S-glass.

Honey yellow, sweet spot around 3 oz. (if I remember correctly, it's been a long time).

It probably was cut down, that would explain why the label was under the reel seat.

No matter, I think this thing would be a great pencil popper rod.

I was curious though - about how old would it be?? I've done a few searches and have it narrowed down to 1954 to 1968, a big spread. That's when Don Green was making rods under the Grizzly name for Fenwick. Grizzly was absorbed by Fenwick in 1968 and they started making all their rods all under the Fenwick name.

What throws this off is that it's a "Fenwick Grizzly" label. I can't find the period of time where both names were used simultaniously.
