hey al,

how'd your season go???

I have a steelheading question...

Im heading up to Pulaski for some steelheading and Im tired of bumming rods off my buds for the trip.. Im looking to build a steelhead rod (spinning, I have the fly stuff). Can anyone recommend a good blank (or even a production rod) rated 3/8 -1 oz???

Ill be using a stradic 4000 with 6 or 8 lb test. I want the blank 9 or 10 feet two pieces...

thanks in advance!!

I checked the Lami website and the only production rod I could find that fits your specs is the Rogue River RR90MLS.

I would also checkout for their selection of steelhead rods.

If you want to build your own here are some Lami blanks to consider depending on your budget.

Set the rod up with Fuji single foot high frame Concept spinning guides, YSG or YLG.

For 9 or 10 feet two piece , I second Al's recommendation of the GSW 1082MH. If you can stand 1/2 as the low end instead of 3/8 , the GSH 1082H is great and also makes an excellent striper schoolie rod. I use mine in the spring throwing 1/2 OZ jigs off the west wall. Its perfect for 8 lb line.

I had to correct about 8 typo's here. I'm getting as bad as John M1 smile.gif
