Wear Marks on Clear Coat

Looking over my Lami 1502 (conventional) the other day I noticed some dull spots on the blank. These spots look like the clear has been buffed/sanded off. The spots are about 90° from the guides and appear up to five down from the tip. Epoxy on the guide wraps still looks great.

When I traveled last summer the rod was in a tube with another long tip section, but the Lami was in a home-made cloth bag. This tube is telescopic with gromets for the adjustable lenght part.

Any ideas for what causes this wear?

Anything I can do to fix it?
