Get a #8 Black Fuji Hardloy single-foot spinning guide. Make sure to taper grind and polish the leading edge of the guide foot before wrapping.

 

Then wrap it onto the rod just ahead of the foregrip with size A black thread. Apply two thin coats of finish and you are done.

Taper grind means to file the guide foot to a proper angle that will allow the thread to climb up onto the guide from the blank easily.

 

A friend of mine use a kind of wire tie that has a screw hole in the end of it. Just zip it around the rod, clip the excess and you are done.

Not the most elegant solution but it works.
