Al,

I'm getting too old and decrepit to cast my 11 1/2' conventional E-glass Lami for very long and thought I might move down to a 10 footer. I've seen good comments about the Batson blanks and wondered if the 1208 might fill the bill to cast plugs in the 2 - 3.5 range and bait around 6? If so, could you give me an idea of optimum guides approximate placement? I'm 6'2" and have a 36" shirt sleeve. Thanks.

I have one tied up conventional. IMO it is a rod for 2 3/4 to 4 1/2oz plugs. 2oz is too light. I actually think it is too stiff for a good bait rod( ILike my bait rods a little "softer" or slower. but should handle 5oz lead plus bait. I test cast mine with 5oz lead and ABU 7 and it does quite well. Iknow Oxnavid has tied up a few of these lately also. I have 8 guides and tip.
