Pac Bay rod wrapper

Hey there guys. I wondering if anyone here has an opinion on the pac bay rod wrapper. i dont want to invest in a clemns just yet, wnat to get some expereience under my belt. What are your thoughts on this machine, and are there any otehrs that are better that are similar in price. Thanks in advance, Derek.

OB,

 

If you are just going to build surf rods then you will need to invest another $100 for an additional four foot bed and two more rod supports. Now you are looking at approximately $400 for a Pac Bay versus $700 for a Clemens lathe similarly laid out.

 

If you then estimate that you will build a minimum of 10-15 rods over the next five years that comes out to $20-30 per rod additional cost for the Clemens which is far superior.

 

If you plan on only wrapping a few rods then the Pac Bay is adequate. I had one for six years as my traveling lathe that I kept out in Montauk with me over the summers.

 

I would check out Ebay to see if any Pac bay lathes are available.
