Apogee Fly Rod Blanks

The Apogee blanks that I remember were sold through Dale Clemens custom tackle up to about early 90's. I own one 5' UL rod. Apogee blanks are unique in terms of construction in that the blanks are mostly tubular graphite in the lower and mid sections, however the top 1/4 to 1/3 was solid graphite. You can actually see where the blank transitions from hollow to solid core. This enables the blank to cast light weights as well as heavier ones. My spin blank was $60 more than 10 years ago, the fryrod blanks were going for somewhere around $200 in the catalog.

I wish I fly fished. The Buy it Now price entirely too low. $275 for a rod built by Cam, with 2 weaves, on a discontinued Apogee blank - that should be a $500+ rod. People plunk down much more than that for factory fly rods, I'm really surprised nodoby has bid on this Classic built by one of the Masters of the craft.
