Had built a 1083 arra last year as a spinner, really loved the way it casted lite plugs. Was getting ready for this season I noticed the tip was broken about 5 inches,I don,t know how it happen. My question is should I strip it down and send it back under warranty or remove the last guide and replace it with the tip How much of a change in action can I expect.Would 5 inches really be too much.

Plugger,

You can send it to Lami and they will probably replace the blank. Do not strip the old rod, you need to send it to lami "as is". They will return it to you with a new blank if they decide to replace it.

5 inches off the tip will result in you losing the light end of your lure weight range. I believe the 1083 is rated for 3/4-2.25 ounces. It probably will now effectively cast 1-2.5 ounces.
