Replacing Cork Handle/Fly Rod

Rate this topic

1 post in this topic

Just had an older Orvis PM10 sent back and repaired for a broken guide. While the rod was there they replaced the cork handle.

How do these guys do that?? they did not remove the stripping guides.I'm guessing that they had to take the reel seat/handle off with a little heat. Then put the new handle on along with a new reel seat.

Anyone have experience with this kind of adventure???
