Al,

I am building a couple of 7ft casting rods for a freind. I used the BNLG series but he wants alittle heavier. Whats the differance between the BHNLG and the BNLGH?

Thanks Bill OConnor

Bill,

BNLG is the standard hardaloy frame and ring.

BNLGH is the same frame as the BNLG with a heavier ring. Great for most light to medium casting rods.

BHNLG has a much heavier frame and ring. Great for heavy casting rods and inshore boat rods up to 40 lb test that will take alot of abuse. My favorite is either hardaloy or SIC (HNSG).

Thanks Al,

I ordered the BNLGH Thursday from Merrick. I decided with this guy to go to carbaloy tops. I know he will reel the swivel into the top so this should save him a little.

Have you tried any Rainshadow blanks yet? I am buiding a SW1208 10ft rated for 20-30lb. I also picked up a SW1088 9ft that I am going to do a spin rod. Matte finish, thicker walled blanks then the Lami's.
