Al, I'm looking at the St. Croix WC80XH back bounce rod for tog; it's graphite, has a fast action, handles 2-8 ounces of lead, and 15 to 40 lb. test. Think this will make a good tog rod?

Brian,

The back bouncing rods are excellent for tog and stripers. However, I would only use mono with these blanks. If you have any thought of using braided line then I would recommend a composite from Calstar or Lamiglas.

It's the all graphite blank. Nothing against St Croix or any other manufacturer. It is a personal thing with me that I do not use all graphite rods with braid. I have seen too many break.
