Madeira polyneon size?

Madeira 40 wt is slightly smaller than Gudebrod A. 60wt is slightly smaller than 40 wt. Like Ed said...40 wt is fine.

 

I don't know if the picture will show, but this is a wrap on a 5wt fly rod with 60 wt madeira and 100 wt silk...really small thread makes you really blind!

I think if you are trying to get the thread as close to a solid looking color as you can the "40" works well. Just look at some of Rapt's work. Some people like to see the threads on their wraps both butt and guide. I done them both ways like them both. The 40 wt does take quite a while though.
