Static electricity

Hi Al,

I'm having great success using your tips.

I'm currently building a canal jigging stick on a loomis 1087 and its coming out very nice.

I noticed that dust is sticking to the blank. I don't mean like normal dust but more like how dust sticks to a computer screen. I'm figuring the blank has static electricity built up. ever notice that? What can you do to de static it before applying the finish?

Thanks

Salt,

First spray the room with a spray bottle filled with water. This will cut down on dust and static electricity.

Tack off the threads with masking tape to remove any dust.

Try to keep the room at a reasonable level of humidity. This also should help.

Al
