Ok Guys I finished Building the Allstar 1145-2 conventional and took it out for some Plugging lessons this past weekend but I was having troubles casting the pencil Popper Plug into the wind with 30lb PP. Tried switching reels with 50 lb braid and it help a little but the rod didn't seem to cast all that far compared to my 11'-9" Allstar when I'm tossing 6 oz & bait. So here's my question what Allstar Blank either 10'-0" or 10'-6" should I get for plugging with 3 oz pikies

and pencil poppers in the wind?

Thanks

Joe

Allstar 1208 is a very nice blank for 3oz.

Has a sweet spot right about 3.5oz.

Although tossing pikies into the wind is a loosing battle no matter what rod your using. That lip just kills the aerodynamics.

Fish

I really had Trouble trying the cast a Really Light plastic Pencil popper that I don't not what it weighed but it seemd to be less then 2

oz. That thing would go up and catch the wind and Instant birds nest. mad.gifmad.gif

It should be the same blank you would use not in the wind. Your thumb has to learn to take care of the wind , not the blank.

Daves recommendation of the 1267 is good for 3 OZ.
