cutting reel seats

I have cut off reel seats before and I have always had a heck of a time dealing with the metal "clips" (not sure what to call them) that actually hold the foot of the reel to the seat. I have no problem with the plastic parts of the seat, but those metal covered parts drive me mad.gif . Any tips?

I use a razor blade on the grapite seat and them use a dremel for the metal housing as well. However, before I had a dremel, I used a hack saw, being carefull to not cut into the blank. that'll work.

if you have trouble controlling the dremel a sharp hacksaw. like BC said, works everytime, and almost no chance of damaging the blank..
