Yellow thread ?

Rate this topic

6 posts in this topic

I have to wrap a rod for my 7 year old nephew.

The blank is a dark gray rainshadow and the butt wrap and guide wraps have to be yellow. I have used regular yellow nylon on a PSB lami blank and it darkened quite a bit when the finish was applied, no color preserver was used. What are my options if I want the yellow to stay brighter ?

NCP yellow, regular yellow and use CP or something like polyneon ?

Thanks

Use regular thread with color preserver. It looks much brighter and crisp to me. NCP thread looks flat to me.

You can also wrap the regular thread over metallic silver underwraps and use no color preserver at all. I liike to wet out my thread and not use CP. I feel the wrap is fully saturated and encapsulated. Far higher integrity than a wrap that has a CP over it and is encapsulated in epoxy. Eventually the wrap will crack (always do) and the water wil infiltrate the CP and the guide foot will rust. Unless you use titanium framed guides (real titanium like the Fuji)

Good luch and have fun with the rolling!! icon14.gif
