Salmon Blank Guide Spacing

Rate this topic

I need your expert help. Picked up a couple of factory blemished fly blanks. They are 3 piece 7 weight and 9 1/2 feet.

Question is do you have spacing for the guides. If it makes a difference I plan on using them for freshwater salmon fishing.

thanks ahead

Sounds like the perfect set up for using the Fuji Concept System. I am assuming you will be setting the rod up for spinning.

Use either Fuji YSG SIC or BYAG Alconite high-frame single foot guides:

YSG or BYAG: 30.25,20,16,12,10

LSG or BLAG: 8,8,8,6,6,6,6,6

Here is the rough guide spacing:

#30 stripper - 28-inches from face or spool.

1st #6 guide 3-inches from tip.

Space out the remaining guides strating with 1/4 inch increasing intervals. As you go up a guide size increase to 1/2 inch increasing intervals.

Test cast and stress distribute and then adjust the spacing as required.
