Hello Al

I have a st. croix spinning rod 8ft.model

rated for up to 2oz.When casting, the butt end gets caught up in my jacket.I was wondering if I could cut four or five inches

off the butt end. Will this effect the action

of the rod or anything else? Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Wally,

Start by trimming off two inches to see if that will work. If not, then continue to trim in 1/2 inch increments. I would not trim off more than four inches since it will effect the action of the rod and your casting distance.

Al
