What are they designed for? Sweet spot?

Thanks in advance.

ghg---I think that's a misprint on the first blank model---to my knowledge, Lami has never made a 108 2F blank in the surf series, either in honey yellow or white. Those weight specs (2-5 oz) are the correct ones for the 11-1/2' WSB 136 2F-2, which they did make for a lot of years and which they recently discontinued. I think you'll be getting a little longer package than you expect from Fed Ex if you order that one.

You could shorten a 1 piece 136 2F blank to something around 9 or 9-1/2', but with a two piece, it'll ferrule right around the fore grip. Don't know how that would turn out in practice.

The MB1083M two pc makes or should I say made a great 5" mambo minnow/ bomber rod. Keep it light with cork tape and a fuji seat. BSVLG stripper guide then BLVLG's all the way out! Or SICs as Al prefers.

Matches up with a Penn 5500 pretty well!

I spoke with Lami, they said this blank was last offered in 1994.

Does it ring a bell? I was just wondering what this blank is ideally suited for.

Q,

Assuming the rating is accurate it would make a decent transportable 9 foot 2-3 ounce plugging or eeling rod and an excellent jetty rod. It's probably a very slow, progressive taper rod good with braided line.

Al,

What does the F mean (fast)? It also says "Mod", what does that mean?

Also this won't be as slow as the Mooching Blanks (MB), right?

I am having trouble casting the GSB1321L, I think its too stiff for me, or I'm underloading it. I have a 706Z on it w/ 30# fireline, and a 2 oz popper. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Q,

2 ounces for the 1L should be sufficient. You may have a structural problem with the rod relating to the guides and their placement as well as the butt length. These can also effect the casting characteristics of the rod.

By going to an glass blank you will step down in performance. Since you live in the city please try to come up to me on a Saturday morning and we can do some casting with your 1L to see how it can be tweaked.

Al,

Thanks so much for the invite. I look forward to meeting you.

The blank now lives on Fishers, as I got frustrated with it, and left it there.

I hope to go up and get it in the next few weeks.

Thanks again,
