factory guide placement?

Rate this topic

The fugi tip on one of my factory rods doesn't line up with the rest. It appears to be turned clockwise a tad, maybe 8 or 9 degrees, enough to notice. Is this a problem that will affect performance. Plugs come off like the rod has rifled guides (spinning like a football) I use braid and the twisting is so problematic that BB swivels don't help and i've had to respool. Don't know whether my casting form is unique and causes the twist or the rod is to blame. Any thoughts?

Mark,

If it's a spinner, could you have been reeling in when the drag was going out while trying to land a fish? It will really trist your line beyond repair.

Thanks for the response fellas. I'll try my local B&T. They have a guy who build custom rods so he might work. It is a spinning rod but I am alert to not reeling while the drag is running out ( as infrequent as that is smile.gif ) Its definetially twisting in the cast. More than any other rod I have. I'll see if the guide fix is the trick. Thanks again.
