Gil.F
trying to figure out how to size a reel seat. any suggestions on how to get the right size. what do I measure on the rod blank it self .
Billy 40
Buy one of each size: 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 - it will cost you $20 and you'll never have to worry again. Just size them, figure out which one fits, and order a replacement. Or tell us what blank you got, or plan to get, and we'll tell you what size seat fits. Triet
Buy a 20 and make it fit. It is the most comfortable size to hold. And it works with most reels. If you have a reel with a funky seat (Newell, sidewinder), then you may have to fit the reel to the seat before worrying about the size. Saltheart
1/16th less than an inch , is that what you mean? That would be 15/16th? If that's the case , that's a big one , you need a 24.
