I have a Rainshadow SW1087 blank and would like to hear some suggestions as to how to build it up. I was thinking of a spinner with Fuji seat and 5 Alconite BMNAG (40,25,20,16,12 & 10 top) guides. I am looking to cast some light stuff up to 2oz. Did anybody build a conventional setup with this blank? smile.gif

BSVLG40 then switch to BLVLG single foot guides 25,20,16,12 keeps it true

Keeping the 12ring top is a big YES!!

I build it with a 40 BHVLG then drop to all BSVLG to the tip. I use after the 40 HH , I use a 30 , 25 , 20 and a 16. that's it , 5 guides. i use all fuji hardloy.

For the tip I use a fuji Sic 16 .

Thanks for the info! I will turn this baby into a spinner. I already have a set of BMNAG guides and will get a #12 top. Does anyone feel that perhaps the BMNAG frame might be a bit low for a spinning rod when compared to BSVLG?
