live bait rod

Help! I was just asked if I could build a live bait rod as a gift. I'm new to all this so I don't have a clue as to this type of rod. The blank I was asked to use is a Seeker CLB704. Any suggestions as to butt length and number/placement of guides? I figured I would use Fuji Hardloys. Any help would be great! Thanks

The CLB704 is a real sweetie for inshore and bay fishing. I have several in my collection of personal rods.

Here is how I would set it up:

12-14 inch cork butt grip. 6 inch flocked cork foregrip.

#18-20 Fuji trigger reelseat depending on reel being used.

Fuji BNLGH hardaloy guides: 20,16,12,10,10,8,8,8 and an SIC tip to fit.

Fuji BRC #19 butt cap.

Al

P.S. This also can be set up for spinning.
