Anchoring system

5 posts in this topic

Run a continuos line with a ring tied in, through the handles in the bow and the stern. You can hook your anchor through the ring and then move it anywhere you want from the bow to the stern. Got this idea from Cliff Blair, works great.

You'll need some sort of pulley to move the anchor from the middle to wherever you want it. Most of us pulley it to the rear, with the external rudder lines on the Tourer you'll need to be a little more carefull on how you plan it. Small pulley wheels mounted at strategic points on the kayak ala wellnuts will probably be the way to go. Do a search, as suggested, and get ideas from what others have done.

Please be careful useing anchors on kayaks

they can flip you faster then you would think. if you must bow or stern not the side and tie everything you don't want to lose.
