See My Yak

9 posts in this topic

For those of you who wanted to see how I set up my yak I finally got it down to my buddies shop. Its at "Pete's Sport-O-Rama", which is at 34 Bloomfield Ave. in Bloomfield. The store is on the right hand side of the road as you're heading east. Get off at the Bloomfield Ave. exit of the Garden State Parkway and head east.

Also they just got in some Tica reels in the kayak sizes so check them out.

Brian - Walt wanted to see how how I set it up. He wants to see a yak close up cause he wants to buy one. With most of the fixtures being black and the kayak dark blue its hard to make much out in a pic. Besides I haven't gotten around to checking out how to post a digital picture and the yak isn't here. biggrin.gif

Just got it to Derricks yesterday and already people have been asking him about it.

Actually Brian yakjohn and I met a guy who had everything one could think of. We were amazed that the yak still floated. Mine is well equipped but it lacks a depth finder which it will have soon.

Walt, my condolenses. Your fishing days appear to be in dire jeapordy. Keep in mind that I'll have a loaner should you wish to give it a try.

Yeah Jon, that guy had everything! He used his yak primarily to dive, fishing was secondary. He had a big white van, and he had a freshwater tank inside to rinse stuff off too, among other stuff!

Walt, that's great. The best way to go would be to get 2 kayaks. A tandem is also a consideration but for the cost of a boat you could get the yaks and they're so much more versatile than a boat. Another great aspect to kayak fishing is the exercise that you get while having fun.
