Kayak book recommendations ?

14 posts in this topic

MM I'm interested. This will be only my second season. Last year I didn't know what I should know & scoured the internet for the basics. This year I would like to refine what I "know" so I don't reinforce bad technique. Sometimes reading raises questions & situatons that I never thought of.

It looks like Ken Daubert's "Kayak Fishing - The Revolution" will be my first read.

Thank you.

By bad technique are you referring to paddling? If so a paddling book is what you want. A kayak fishing book will be about fishing. You will learn things in Ken's book about fishing from a kayak.

seadogface,

the wifey gave me the KD book and the tarpon video for v-day (must have been a special on amazon).

The book is outdated as many of the topics are better covered on the net, but it's a fun read anyway, and the section on drift fishing was interesting.

The video is cool with some great footage of tarpon jumps.

Hello I'm a newbie here and have enjoyed reading post after post .

My daughter just sent me several magazines from Fl. to read while I'm in recoup from surgery.

The best one is "Kayak Angler" the kayak fishin magazine.

Think I'll get a subscriptin to it.
