Gettysburg: Who's been

Looking to do something a little different this year vacation wise....

Wife and I have been talking about how intresting it might be to go to Gettysburg so thats the plan for early June.

Thoughts, recomendations, advice, horror stories... how many days is enough and how many days is too many?

Talking about maybe taking our time on the drive back (SE Mass. Area) to do some sight seeing... any suggestion on exploring?

Much appreciated

If you are into history, it is hallowed ground. Do some research and get out of the car. I always wanted to go to Harper's Ferry.I hope I can sometime soon.

If you like history, Gettysburg is the place.

Close by is Harpers Ferry, and Antietam.

Both are around an hour drive from Gettysburg through some pretty country.

South Mountain is close too.

Lots of B&B, motels, and shopping too.

Its a great area with a lot of history. You could probably do 7 days not see it all. You also have the Army War College up the road. You could pull a day and head south to Baltimore and do the inner harbor.

Like the above mentioned if your into history nothing like it. Lots of tours, either guided or you can go on your own and walk around. Plenty of information to be had about the tours. I always enjoyed the time spent there.

If you golf I can recommend the Links of Gettysburg, nice track.

I always wanted to go there myself, might be a good trip on the bike with the Lady..... President Eisenhower retired there, is there anything to see relating to Him?
