shoitsma
Black Drum I have only ever used and heard of people using clams. Red Drum, I have no idea.
EdonESVA
Peeler works best in spring for both. Cut finger mullet for Reds in the fall.
flytyingguy1
The reds love sand fleas.
Drumdum
You can use shrimp, cutbait,or sandfleas and catch either red or black drum when they are "pups".. You can catch larger black and red drum with those baits at times, although when they are full grown,as a rule, red drum like cut mullet as well as menhaden, and will go for a bucktail or Hopkins as well.. Big black drum like clams, and will occasionally go for a bucktail, but not as often.. Crabs would be on the menu for both big and small... jmho.. bstriping
For big black drum, surf clams. Make sure they are fresh! Big red drum looove the mullet either cut or live lined. But again keep it fresh! live everyday as if it is your last, it just might be

CaptGull
I'm mostly an artificials guy. In open water they destroy rattletraps. Over grass it's a gold spoon or something like a slugo.
kyle241
Clams and half-cut blue crabs for big drum. For puppy-drum (smaller redfish), I have great success with a chartreuse gulp with red jig-head. This used to work great in VA for redfish up to 35". speckhunter80
Bass Assassin/Saltwater Assassin Sea Shads 4"-6" in various colors dependent upon water color. Calcascieu Brew and Cajun Croaker are two favorites for clear to reasonably clear water but in tannic stained or muddy water then Candy Corn fished on the lightest jig heads you can get by with. I prefer 1/8oz.
