Best fishing west coast of Florida

So - here's a question which should relict some debate.

Which town on the west coast of FL (Appalchiacola and south) has the best inshore fishing? I am mostly thinking from a boat - flats, bays, off the beaches.

I am thinking of relocating, and fishing would be a main driver. The other is family in the Sarasota area.

Curious to hear your thoughts.

Appalch is  a great place but cold in the winter and far from just about everything. We make a couple trips up that way every year in the summer.  Sarasota area is wonderful. Great inshore fishing in the immediate area (Sarasota bay). Just to the north is Tampa bay and to the south is Charlotte Harbor. Very good quality of life too.

You left lot out of your post, kids in school, working, Cant tell you much about Metro area of Sarasota, Tampa, Clearwater except traffic is a SOB, crowded, then Tax structure, recommend you pick up copy of Florida sportsman mag as they break down state by zone on what is going on new methods rigs, bait and such.

Big Bend area is Known for Flats, for miles water 2-6ft or less, one needs a skinny water boat . Skiff type, Fishing Trout//Red;s/ sheepshead good, Big Bend area laid back slow, low cost of living ,low tax structure, owing to size(Small enrollment in respect to others, schools very good .

Fishing/living cost very good Now Employment Flat azz sucks
